SURA Asset Management, an expert player in the Latin American Retirement Savings, Investment and Asset Management sectors, took part in the World Pension Summit 2021 that was held in the Netherlands from October 12 to 14. This participation is part of the Company's objective to promote conversations that help people build a brighter future for themselves through different savings mechanisms.
The Company's participation at this event was led by its CEO, Ignacio Calle, who participated in the panel “Empowering Savings through Education: Participation or Overload”. Here, panelists discussed people's commitment to saving and planning for their future, as well as how to improve financial literacy, lessons learned from behavioral finance, and what savers need in their retirement plans.
In this respect Ignacio Calle, CEO of SURA Asset Management, stated: “We appreciate this invitation to participate in this extremely important global venue. Thanks to our regional presence, we are delivering on our vision regarding the importance of savings and financial education so that people can plan their future well-being. This discussion has particular relevance to us in these times of uncertainty in which savings have played a decisive role in society during this current public health situation, evidencing the need to have sufficient savings to face different circumstances that may arise, and it is here that financial education plays a fundamental role".
The event took place from October 13 to 14, and was attended by prominent speakers, including Richard Curtis, writer and co-founding director of Red Nose Day and a defender of the UN Sustainable Development Goals, Beata Javorcik, Chief Economist of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development; and Ole Buhl, Vice President and Head of ESG at the Danish Pension Fund ATP, and Sarah Marks, Head of Development at REDSTAR, among others.
In addition to this, through its CEO and since 2021, SURA Asset Management has participated as a member of the World Pension SUMMIT Committee, at which the Company is providing its perspectives and knowledge as an expert player in the Latin American Pension Fund and Voluntary Savings industry.
