With the legislative agenda beginning and after the reactivation of the Pension Reform discussion in the Senate plenary, Protección reaffirms their compromise to continue being part of the conversation with all of the actors (Government, Congress, companies and, in a very important manner), so that it incorporates the values of equity, sustainability and coverage.
Precisely, within their compromise to be close to the clients, explaining the impacts that the adjustments proposed to the pension system may have, Protección presents an innovative profiling tool designed to provide to all people, affiliated or not, a clear vision of their future situation if the Pension Reform is approved.
The Pension Profiler’s purpose is to help people understand, in a concise and simple manner, how they may be impacted if the pension reform project is approved. After filling out a simple form, people will receive an email in which it is explained what their pension situation may be in accordance with what was included in the reform project.
“It is a crucial moment for the pension system in Colombia, it is imperative that the people are fully informed about the proposals that are included in the reform project. Ignorance can translate into uncertainty, and this why at Protección we want to become translators, so that people understand the impact that the reform has on each one of them. “The great advantage of projecting the pension future through simulations is that it gives people the capacity to take informed decisions and know about the impact of these, and even begin to take decisions as complementary pension plans that allow them from the present to better their financial situation and decrease the projected pension gap” pointed out Angela Maya.
It is worth noting that Pension Profiler doesn’t determine the specific conditions to access a pension and should not be interpreted as an advice for making decisions about the transfer of Pension Fund Administrators or pension regime, since the text of the Bill still may be modified as the debates in Congress continue.
